Worship & Arts

The worship of God is essential in the life of a Christian.  At Sugar Land Baptist Church, we seek to worship the Triune God in spirit and in truth. Ultimately, worship is the way we live each day to bring glory to God. Worship is so much more than just music, but we believe music and the arts are incredible gifts from the Lord to be used in our worship. Our Sunday Service includes biblical preaching, music, prayer, testimonies, baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and other elements.

We use choirs, praise teams and soloists as well as band, orchestral, and other instrumental music. We would love for you to plug in to serve in our ministry. Check out the links below for options in how you might get involved with the Worship & Arts Ministry.

Worship Production

The Worship & Arts ministry is comprised of ordinary men, women, and children who know first-hand of the greatness of God and of the abundance of His loving kindness, grace, and mercy in a believer’s life. They are thankful, joyful, and excited about ascribing to Him the glory due His Name! They love the Lord and share that testimony by singing, playing an instrument, acting, speaking, and creating for God’s glory.  Serving in the Worship & Arts Ministry is a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Help lead in the corporate worship of God
  • Grow in Christ and inspire others to do the same
  • Develop supportive, lifelong relationships
  • Discover abilities and hone skills
  • Serve the community through mission trips and other events
  • Participate in the work of God in the church and have a lasting impact on the life of Sugar Land Baptist Church

The following Scripture is useful in describing the philosophy of the Music and Worship Ministry at Sugar Land Baptist Church:

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:16-17 (NIV)

Throughout scripture, Christians are instructed to worship the Lord through singing and music. At Sugar Land Baptist Church, we have many ways to be involved in worship leadership and discipleship through music and the arts. Above all, we want to minister to you and your family and we have a place for you to plug in no matter your age, interests, or musical skill level.
