UPWARD BASKETBALL & CHEER MINISTRY

Registration is now open for our 17th basketball/cheer season of partnering with Upward Sports to provide a superior basketball/cheer league with the focus of sharing the love of Christ.  Early registration cost is $105 through October 30.  Late registration (wait list) cost is $130.  Practices start in December and league play runs December-February each year.  There is 1 practice per week for one hour (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday) and a one hour game on Saturdays/Sundays.  We follow the Upward 360 Progression and have separate boys and girls leagues in 3 divisions: 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade, and 5th-6th grade.

All athletes must attend 1 Upward Evaluation/Uniform Sizing Time:

• Monday, October 29: 6-7:30pm
• Tuesday, October 30: 6-7:30pm

All evaluations, practices, and games are held at Sugar Land Baptist Church - 16755 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land TX 77479.  The church gym is best accessed through the building south entrance.

SLBC Basketball Academy

Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2018 4th annual Basketball Academy!!  Beginning in September each fall, Coach Doug Lechtenberger (retired Ft. Bend Dulles HS Girls Varsity Coach) takes all athletes in grades 5-8 through weekly practices and lessons just before fall try-outs begin.  The Academy runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7pm.  Cost is $185.  All lessons take place at Sugar Land Baptist gym - 16755 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land TX 77479.

Upward Basketball Camp registration is one week every June for athletes who are entering grades 3-8.  Master Coach Doug Lechtenberger, who recently retired from 20+ years coaching Fort Bend Dulles Varsity Girls basketball.  Coach Doug and his wife, Coach Brenda, lead the camps and academy.  Morning camp for grades 3-5 is from 9am-12pm.  Afternoon camp for grades 6-8 is 1-4pm.
