Katie Mussat joined the SLBC family in the summer 2018.
She grew up in a youth minister’s home in the small town of Augusta, Kansas. She felt God calling her to ministry as a junior in high school. She graduated with a B.A. in Religion & Philosophy from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, and then went on to earn an M.Div. from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She is passionate about working with teenagers and their families through the crucial time of adolescent development. Her greatest desire for youth is for them to find and follow Jesus and serve and love His church. Engaging students in missions and in cross-cultural relationships is another emphasis of her ministry. Katie occasionally writes for Youth Worker Journal and various youth ministry blogs. She is married to Aaron Mussat, a board certified chaplain, and they have a 2 year old daughter named Chaney. Katie enjoys running, movies, reading books to her baby, and playing with their Aussie, Ruby.
