Hurricane Response

Hurricane Ida made landfall on the afternoon of August 29, 2021. As a category 4, her wind strength, rainfall, and structure, labels her one of the strongest hurricanes to hit Louisiana. We invite you to join us in praying for and participating in one of our many efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Ida. Below you will find a list of ways you can join us in supporting the forthcoming efforts for disaster response and recovery.

  1. Make a Donation – Please write “Hurricane Response” in the “Note/Memo” section.
  2. Create a Disaster Response Cleanup Bucket Kit – Bucket cleanup kit materials cost approximately $100 per kit. Buckets may be dropped off at the church office.
  3. Join a Response Mission Team – We are awaiting guidance from our state and national coordinators to determine how a SLBC team will be most useful. Once we determine the best use of our efforts, we will gather a volunteer mission team to travel to Louisiana to assist with disaster relief. Stay tuned for more updates!
